Hi, I’m Julie!
Being a therapist is very meaningful to me. I have experienced my share of anxiety, shame, loss, broken relationships and difficulty being true to myself. I know what it’s like to want to feel alone in emotional struggles and want help in sorting out the past and current challenges.
A Little About Me…
For the past several years, I have enjoyed my second career as a counselor. I am a teacher at heart, as that was my first job before being a school administrator and counselor. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy reading, listening to podcasts and participating in the latest trainings and teachings and ideas for my work. Most of all, I love serving others and helping them heal and experience peace in their lives.
As for down time, I enjoy exercising, engaging fiction novels, knitting and watching crime shows and Thunder basketball. I always enjoy connecting with friends and delving into spiritual growth as well.
My Professional Background and Training…
In terms of my professional credentials, I have a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Nazarene University. In 2010, I became a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and in 2011, a licensed alcohol & drug counselor (LADC).
My post-graduate trainings include Level One Internal Family Systems, Level One and ongoing training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy and many other therapeutic models. I hold certifications in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT) for couples as well as completion of Levels One and Two of Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
Lifelong learning and honing my therapeutic skills are very important to me. I hope I could be of help to you!
