Goals for Rising Strong™ Groups:
To learn and share more about vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness.
To gather information on emotion and how emotion is connected to behavior and thought.
To awaken curiosity about emotions – awareness and the ability to articulate – and build our understanding of emotions.
To be able to use the rising strong process in a variety of settings to increase wholeheartedness in living, loving, and leading.
The Physics of Vulnerability:
If we are brave enough often enough, we will fall; this is the physics of vulnerability.
Once we fall in the service of being brave, we can never go back.
This journey belongs to no one but you; however, no one successfully goes it alone.
We’re wired for story. The brain is wired for story. In the absence of data, we will always make up stories. Meaning making is in our biology, and our default is often to come up with a story that makes sense, feels familiar, and offers us insight into how best to self-protect. The brain rewards whether the story is accurate or not.
Creativity embeds knowledge so that it can become practice. We move what we’re learning from our heads to our hearts through our hands.
Rising strong is the same process whether you’re navigating personal or professional struggles.
Comparative suffering is a function of fear and scarcity.
You can’t engineer an emotional, vulnerable, and courageous process into an easy, one-size-fits-all formula.
Courage is contagious.
Rising strong is a spiritual practice.
